Position Summary

The Customer Service Specialist role in Consumer Banking at KeyBank's Amherst, NY location is perfect for empathetic problem-solvers who thrive in fast-paced call centers. Starting April 6th, 2026, this full-time position offers competitive pay of $18.00 - $23.08 per hour ($37,440 - $47,994 annually), shift differentials, and flexible schedules including Weekend Warrior and Saturday Squad options with premium pay. Initial 3-month on-site training at 4224 Ridge Lea Rd, Amherst, NY 14226, followed by remote work with strict home office requirements like 50 Mbps internet and distraction-free space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer high-volume inbound calls from consumer banking clients, delivering exceptional service.
  • Problem-solve, educate clients, de-escalate issues, and promote KeyBank's Moments Matter culture.
  • Provide technical support for online, mobile, and tablet banking services.
  • Multitask across multiple screens and software while maintaining clear phone communication.
  • Collaborate with KeyBank teammates to resolve complex client challenges ethically and professionally.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of client service experience and high school diploma/GED.
  • Demonstrated problem resolution, multitasking, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer proficiency navigating browsers, apps, and multiple systems.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, empathy, patience, and flexibility for rotating shifts including weekends.
  • Ability to follow call scripts and adapt to schedule changes via performance-based shift bids.

Preferred: Remote work experience. Must reside near Amherst, NY.
