Position Summary
The Lead Accountant - SEC Reporting role at KeyBank supports the SEC Reporting Team in delivering accurate and timely periodic SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K reports. This hybrid position (3+ days in office) at 4900 Tiedeman Road, Brooklyn, OH, requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and expertise in financial reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing schedules and disclosures for SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings.
- Collaborate with Investor Relations to prepare quarterly earnings releases.
- Document SEC accounting schedules and workpapers thoroughly.
- Analyze peer disclosures to identify trends and improvements.
- Propose process enhancements for greater efficiency and customer service.
- Support annual audits and new accounting standards implementation.
- Build knowledge of KeyBank's operations, products, and emerging banking/accounting issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
- 1-3 years in financial reporting, public accounting, or relevant fields.
- Key competencies: Integrity, ethics, functional/technical accounting skills, customer focus, timely decision-making, action-oriented mindset, strong written communications, interpersonal savvy, and presentation skills.
- Physical demands: Prolonged sitting, PC use, occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
