Position Summary
The Managing Director, Consumer Investment Banking role within KeyBanc Capital Markets' Consumer & Retail team offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned coverage banker. Based in New York, NY (with flexibility for Cleveland, Boston, or Chicago), this position focuses on sourcing, pitching, and executing M&A transactions, buy-sides, sell-sides, divestitures, capital raises, and fairness opinions. Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation & Deal Execution
- Lead origination, execution, and closing of M&A transactions to drive revenue.
- Manage complex deals including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures with precision.
Client Relationship & Business Development
- Build trusted advisor relationships with corporate and private equity clients to increase advisory wallet share.
- Identify prospects and execute targeted business development to expand client base.
Team Leadership & Cross-Selling
- Mentor junior and mid-level bankers on technical and deal execution skills.
- Collaborate across teams to promote KeyBank's full suite of services.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field (advanced degrees preferred) and possess 10+ years in investment banking or capital markets. Required FINRA licenses include SIE, S7, S79, and S63. Success requires demonstrated expertise in client management, M&A lifecycle, negotiation, risk mitigation, and credit principles. Strong leadership, collaboration, and business development skills are essential for this senior role.
