Position Summary
The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) at KeyBank in Carmel IN plays a pivotal role in originating residential mortgage loans. You'll assist clients with personalized home lending advice analyze their financial needs and develop referral networks to expand our client base. This full-time mid-level position requires meeting sales goals while upholding high standards of client satisfaction loan quality and regulatory compliance. Work 4+ days per week in our branch at 501 E Carmel Drive participating in team huddles and debriefs.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Origination
- Prospect and originate family residential mortgages targeting sales goals.
- Build referral relationships with real estate agents financial advisors and COIs.
Client Service & Processing
- Provide expert advice on mortgage options interest rates and terms.
- Gather documents and remain the primary contact from application to closing.
- Ensure efficient workflows and high-quality loan production.
Compliance & Professionalism
- Stay current on real estate trends FNMA FHLMC FHA VA regulations and KeyBank policies.
- Maintain proficiency in sales systems and ethical business practices.
Required Qualifications
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of mortgage loan officer experience a preferred Bachelor's degree in business and deep knowledge of lending regulations. Key skills include excellent communication customer service sales acumen and financial analysis. A valid driver's license is required for travel between locations. Physical demands include prolonged sitting PC use and occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
