Position Summary
The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) in Hamburg, NY plays a pivotal role in originating residential mortgage loans. You'll assist clients with tailored home lending solutions, prospect for new business, and exceed sales goals while upholding exceptional client satisfaction and loan quality. This full-time, mid-level role offers commission, incentives, and a $15.50 hourly draw in a dynamic branch environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and build home lending pipelines through networking and referrals.
- Originate and process family residential mortgages compliant with guidelines.
- Educate clients on mortgage products, rates, and terms.
- Manage loan documentation and client communication from application to closing.
- Monitor market trends and maintain expertise in KeyBank offerings.
- Work in-branch 4+ days weekly, joining team huddles and debriefs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent (preferred).
- 3+ years mortgage loan officer experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of FNMA, FHA, VA, RESPA, and related regulations.
- Strong communication, sales, and financial analysis skills.
- Valid driver's license for multi-location travel.

- 3+ years experience as a loan officer in 1st mortgage production (preferred) (experience)
- 3+ years working knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, TIL, RESPA regulations, and real estate laws (preferred) (experience)
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive to multiple locations (experience)
Responsibilities
- Prospect home lending business to develop new client relationships and loan originations
- Originate and process residential mortgage transactions per KeyBank guidelines
- Provide clients with detailed mortgage options, rates, and terms for informed decisions
- Gather loan documents and serve as primary client contact throughout the process
- Maintain high client satisfaction, loan quality, and efficient workflows
- Develop knowledge of KeyBank products and stay informed on real estate market trends
- Work in-branch 4+ days/week, participating in huddles and debriefs
