Position Summary
The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) at KeyBank in Ypsilanti, MI plays a pivotal role in originating residential mortgage loans. You'll provide expert analysis and advice on home lending solutions tailored to clients' financial goals. This full-time position requires meeting sales targets, developing referrals, and maintaining exceptional client satisfaction while working primarily in-branch 4+ days per week at our 1442 E Michigan Avenue location.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and originate family residential mortgage loans to expand KeyBank's home lending business.
- Guide clients through mortgage options, interest rates, and terms for informed decision-making.
- Manage the full loan process from application to closing as the primary point of contact.
- Build partnerships with real estate agents, financial advisors, and centers of influence (COI).
- Stay current on real estate market trends, regulations (FNMA, FHA, VA, RESPA), and KeyBank products.
- Participate in branch huddles, debriefs, and deliver in-person client services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3+ years as a loan officer in first mortgage production preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations and lending laws.
- Excellent communication, sales, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel to multiple locations.
- Proficiency in loan origination systems and financial analysis.
