Position Summary

As a Personal Banker at our Bellingham, WA branch located at 180 Telegraph Road, you'll engage clients through meaningful conversations to uncover needs and deliver tailored financial solutions. This sales-driven role requires a self-motivated, competitive individual with excellent communication skills. You'll attract new clients, deepen existing relationships, and support branch operations while working toward individual and team goals. KeyBank provides the training and tools—you bring the relationship-building expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Embody a client experience culture by listening for financial opportunities and providing customized recommendations during in-person and phone interactions.
• Consistently meet activity, behavior, and outcome goals, including opening accounts and recommending products like checking, loans, and CDs.
• Build partnerships with branch teammates and line-of-business experts to drive client acquisition and relationship expansion.
• Maintain compliance with all operational, risk, security, and audit policies.
• Support teller line transactions, participate in daily huddles/debriefs, and work Saturdays as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 1+ years experience developing customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referrals (sales experience prioritized over banking).
• Knowledge of consumer credit (loan-to-value, debt-to-income, credit reports).
• Sales/service techniques including tele-consulting, prospecting, and networking.
• PC proficiency (MS Office) and digital technology knowledge to educate clients.
• Strong work ethic, comfort with small business clients, and partner influence skills.
