Position Summary
The Senior Closing Officer/Lead Closing Officer role in Commercial Real Estate and Syndications at KeyBank's Atlanta office (1200 Abernathy Road NE) manages moderate to highly complex loan closings. This position drives the process from loan approval to post-closing monitoring, handling products like borrowing base loans, lines of credit, standby letters of credit, and syndicated transactions. Deliver exceptional client service while balancing policy, risk, and client needs in a collaborative team setting.
Key Responsibilities
Closing Process Leadership
- Proactively manage closing checklists and coordinate with clients, legal counsel, title agents, and consultants.
- Review credit approvals, commitment letters, and loan documentation for compliance.
- Analyze insurance, flood zones, construction budgets, and schedules.
Risk and Compliance Management
- Ensure adherence to OFAC, Patriot Act, and federal regulations.
- Negotiate document changes and resolve issues for win-win outcomes.
- Monitor syndicated/participated transactions and lead bank group meetings.
Client Service Excellence
- Maintain ongoing communication with all parties and participate in client meetings.
- Coordinate fees, funding, and booking for timely closings.
- Provide post-closing oversight and special project support.
Required Qualifications
Ideal candidates bring proven expertise in commercial real estate closings, proficiency in syndicated deals, strong negotiation skills, and deep knowledge of banking regulations.
