Position Summary
The Senior Merchant Business Advisor plays a pivotal role in Key Merchant Services, supporting Core Business Banking sales teams in assigned districts. This full-time, mid-level position focuses on growing client relationships with payment and card processing needs. As a trusted advisor, you'll develop, manage, and retain profitable relationships for clients with basic to moderately complex merchant needs. Located at 726 Exchange Street, Buffalo, New York, this role offers a base salary of $56,000 - $85,000 annually, plus incentive compensation opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire new merchant services relationships through external prospecting and referrals from Retail Banking, Business Banking, Private Banking, and Treasury teams.
- Consult with businesses to identify optimal payment solutions, selling credit card processing, check processing, gift cards, ACH, and related hardware/software.
- Identify additional banking needs and partner with KeyBank resources to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Prospect within assigned regions to drive growth and resolve client issues for maximum satisfaction.
- Collaborate across functional groups to uncover and pursue growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training and experience.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in payments within banking; 3 years in client-focused roles with aggressive growth goals.
Tactical Skills: Strong financial acumen, exceptional negotiating and closing abilities.
Personal Skills: Persuasion, collaboration, decision-making, adaptability.
