Position Summary

The Small Business Relationship Manager (RM) at KeyBank serves as the primary financial advisor for clients in the lower end of the business banking market segment. Based at our 1301 5th Avenue location in Seattle, WA, this full-time mid-level role emphasizes acquiring new relationships, managing and growing existing ones, and introducing core Business Banking products. Bankers demonstrate strong risk acumen in credit, operations, and compliance while exceeding customer expectations. Compensation includes a base salary of $71,000 - $122,000 annually, plus incentive pay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main contact and business partner, handling client-related matters with a client-centric focus.
  • Analyze cash flow, industries, and trends to proactively identify growth opportunities and drive revenue.
  • Educate clients on KeyBank's differentiated products and deliver tailored banking solutions.
  • Collaborate with retail branches, build Centers of Influence referral networks, and develop new prospects.
  • Lead credit processes, manage portfolio risks, assemble cross-functional teams, and ensure policy compliance.

Required Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: 2+ years in small business/commercial lending; 1+ year cross-selling with proven sales goal achievement.

Skills: Client trust-building, innovative problem-solving, industry/product expertise, revenue focus, financial/strategic understanding, sales methodologies, and KeyBank risk culture proficiency. Occasional travel required; general office physical demands apply.
