Position Summary

The Sr. Compliance Manager – Operational Risk Testing role is pivotal within KeyBank's Risk Evaluation and Assurance Program (REA Program). This senior position leads the design, execution, and oversight of operational risk testing and continuous monitoring across business lines. Reporting to REA leadership, you will manage a team of testing professionals, ensure adherence to OCC, FRB, and state regulations, and drive strategic improvements in compliance controls. Ideal for experienced leaders with banking operations expertise seeking to challenge the status quo and foster sustainable risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of operational risk testing professionals, providing oversight on risk assessments, monitoring, testing, and reporting.
• Guide staff in engaging business lines and compliance partners for testing and special projects.
• Leverage subject matter expertise in banking operations, products, and regulations to scope evaluations and design testing plans.
• Utilize data analysis tools to quantify risks, evaluate controls, and identify gaps.
• Contribute to REA program development, including testing methodology and ongoing monitoring aligned with industry best practices.
• Manage staff coaching, issue escalation, remediation, and validation processes.
• Monitor emerging issues and trends to innovate testing and monitoring approaches.
• Build collaborative relationships with senior management, Internal Audit, and regulators.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 6+ years in compliance, risk management, or audit, with focus on risk-based testing; management experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of financial services regulations including OCC, FRB, and state laws.
• Proven leadership in banking operations and compliance testing.
• Strong analytical skills with data tools and risk quantification techniques.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
