Position Summary
The Vice President, Portfolio Management - Specialty Finance Lending is a pivotal individual contributor role responsible for financial analysis, credit underwriting, and portfolio monitoring. This position supports high-value corporate credit requests, including syndicated deals and occasional Left Lead transactions, while maintaining asset quality within a moderate risk profile. Ideal candidates demonstrate leadership in deal teams, provide guidance to junior staff, and foster cross-selling opportunities with product partners.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Underwriting
- Analyze financial statements, calculate credit metrics, and model future performance including stress scenarios.
- Prepare comprehensive credit documents identifying risks, mitigants, and industry trends.
- Conduct enhanced leveraged cash flow due diligence for specialty portfolios.
Portfolio Management & Compliance
- Monitor ongoing portfolio performance, covenant compliance, and risk ratings.
- Review legal documentation and manage approvals for amendments and waivers.
- Ensure adherence to KYC, Patriot Act, OFAC, and Beneficial Ownership regulations.
Client & Team Leadership
- Build direct client relationships through site visits and management presentations.
- Collaborate with bankers and relationship managers to structure transactions.
- Mentor Analysts and Associates while contributing to industry white papers.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, with 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate credit, portfolio management, or specialty finance lending. Expertise in syndicated credits, financial modeling, and regulatory compliance is essential. Strong leadership skills, a solutions-oriented mindset, and proficiency in tools like financial spreading software are required. Advanced degrees or certifications (CFA, CPA) are a plus.
