Job Overview

The Bakery/Asst Dept Leader at Kroger is a dynamic leadership role within the bakery department of our grocery stores. This position supports the Bakery Department Leader in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of product quality and freshness. As an Assistant Department Leader, you will assist in managing a team of bakery associates, driving sales, and executing merchandising strategies to delight Kroger customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Department Leader to plan and execute bakery production schedules, ensuring timely preparation of breads, cakes, pastries, and other baked goods.
• Supervise and train bakery staff on food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and Kroger's customer service expectations.
• Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and minimize waste to optimize department profitability.
• Provide hands-on support in baking, decorating, and packaging products while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Engage with customers to recommend products, handle special orders, and resolve issues promptly to enhance satisfaction.

Leadership and Development

In this role, you will develop leadership skills by scheduling shifts, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a positive team environment.
