The Bakery/Deli Clerk at Kroger plays a vital role in our Fresh for Everyone™ initiative, ensuring customers receive high-quality bakery and deli products with exceptional service. This position involves preparing, stocking, and presenting fresh baked goods, deli meats, cheeses, salads, and hot foods while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package bakery items such as cakes, pastries, breads, and deli specialties including sliced meats, cheeses, and prepared meals.
• Stock shelves and display cases with fresh products, rotating stock to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Provide friendly customer service, offering product recommendations, answering questions, and assisting with special orders.
• Maintain department cleanliness by sanitizing surfaces, equipment, and work areas according to health and safety regulations.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and scales safely and efficiently.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team. Basic food handling knowledge is preferred, with on-the-job training provided. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in varying temperatures.
