Job Overview

The Bakery/Deli Clerk at Kroger plays a vital role in our fresh food departments, ensuring customers receive high-quality bakery and deli products with exceptional service. This position involves preparing, stocking, and presenting a variety of fresh-baked goods, deli meats, cheeses, salads, and ready-to-eat meals. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package bakery items such as cakes, pastries, breads, and deli products including sliced meats, cheeses, and salads.
• Stock shelves and display cases, rotating products to ensure freshness and compliance with FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and wrapping machines safely and efficiently.
• Provide friendly customer service, including order fulfillment for special requests like custom cakes or party platters.
• Maintain sanitation standards by cleaning work areas, equipment, and surfaces according to health and safety regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic food handling knowledge is preferred, with on-the-job training provided. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and repetitive tasks. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
