Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package bakery items such as breads, cakes, pastries, and deli salads, meats, and cheeses according to department standards.
• Stock shelves and display cases with fresh products, rotating stock to maintain quality and minimize waste.
• Provide friendly customer service, answering questions, suggesting pairings, and processing special orders.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including cleaning equipment, surfaces, and storage areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and scales safely and efficiently.
• Assist with inventory management, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and support peak-hour demands.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Food handling experience is preferred, along with basic math skills for pricing and measurements. Kroger provides training for all necessary certifications, including food safety.
