Bakery/Deli Clerks handle a variety of tasks including baking fresh goods, slicing meats and cheeses, assembling deli platters, and maintaining sanitary conditions in accordance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and display bakery items such as breads, cakes, pastries, and deli meats/cheeses to attract customers.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with product selection, special orders, and recommendations.
• Maintain department cleanliness, rotate stock to ensure freshness, and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and scales safely and efficiently.
• Comply with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation protocols.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for food service. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and repetitive tasks. Previous experience in retail, food service, or grocery is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training is provided. Reliable transportation and availability for flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, are essential.
