Job Overview

The Bakery/Deli Clerk at Kroger plays a vital role in our fresh food departments, ensuring customers receive high-quality bakery and deli products with exceptional service. This position involves preparing, stocking, and presenting a variety of fresh-baked goods, deli meats, cheeses, salads, and ready-to-eat meals. Clerks maintain department standards for cleanliness, safety, and product freshness while assisting customers with product recommendations and special orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package bakery items such as breads, cakes, pastries, and deli products including sliced meats, cheeses, and salads.
• Stock shelves and display cases, rotate products to ensure freshness, and monitor inventory levels.
• Provide friendly customer service, answer questions, and fulfill special requests like custom slicing or cake decorating.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to food safety and health regulations.
• Operate equipment such as slicers, ovens, and scales safely and efficiently.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and handling perishable goods. Previous experience in food handling or retail is preferred.
