Bakery/Deli Clerks handle a variety of tasks including baking fresh goods, slicing meats and cheeses, assembling platters, and maintaining sanitary conditions in accordance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and display bakery items such as breads, cakes, pastries, and deli meats/cheeses to attract customers.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with product selection, special orders, and recommendations.
• Maintain department cleanliness, including cleaning equipment, surfaces, and storage areas daily.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and mixers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock to ensure freshness, and assist with receiving deliveries.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and frequent bending. Food handling experience is preferred, and all hires must pass a background check and obtain food safety certification if not already held.
