Job Overview

The Bakery/Deli Clerk at Kroger plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards in our fresh bakery and deli departments. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package bakery items such as cakes, pastries, breads, and deli products including sliced meats, cheeses, and salads.
• Stock shelves and display cases, ensuring attractive presentation and FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation to minimize waste.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and mixers safely while adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols.
• Provide friendly customer service, answer questions, and process special orders for cakes or party platters.
• Maintain a clean and organized department, including sweeping floors, wiping surfaces, and sanitizing equipment.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have basic food handling knowledge, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina is required for lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods. Previous experience in retail, food service, or grocery is preferred but not mandatory—training is provided. Reliable attendance and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.
