Job Overview

The Bakery/Deli Clerk at Kroger is a vital role in our grocery stores, responsible for preparing, displaying, and serving high-quality bakery and deli products to ensure customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and stock bakery items such as breads, cakes, pastries, and deli products including sliced meats, cheeses, and ready-to-eat meals.
• Ensure all products are fresh, properly labeled, and attractively displayed to drive sales.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers, answering questions, and recommending products based on preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the department, following Kroger's food safety protocols and health regulations.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and wrapping machines safely and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock to prevent spoilage, and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and support store promotions.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and repetitive tasks. Prior experience in food handling is preferred, with on-the-job training provided for Kroger standards.
