Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and display bakery items such as breads, cakes, pastries, and deli meats/cheeses to attract customers.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with product selection, special orders, and recommendations.
• Maintain department cleanliness, rotate stock to ensure freshness, and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and scales safely and efficiently.
• Comply with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation protocols.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for food service. Basic math skills for pricing and weighing products are essential. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and repetitive tasks. Previous experience in food service or retail is preferred but not mandatory, as Kroger provides comprehensive on-the-job training.
