Job Overview

The Bakery/Deli Clerk at Kroger plays a vital role in our fresh food departments, ensuring customers receive high-quality bakery and deli products with exceptional service. This position involves preparing, stocking, and presenting a variety of fresh-baked goods, deli meats, cheeses, salads, and ready-to-eat meals. Bakery/Deli Clerks maintain department standards for cleanliness, safety, and product freshness while assisting customers in selecting the perfect items for their needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package bakery items such as cakes, pastries, breads, and deli products including sliced meats, cheeses, and salads.
• Stock shelves and display cases with fresh products, rotating stock to ensure optimal freshness and minimizing waste.
• Provide friendly customer service, offering product recommendations, answering questions, and fulfilling special orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following food safety and sanitation protocols.
• Operate equipment such as slicers, ovens, and scales safely and efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should have basic food handling knowledge, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and frequent bending. Previous retail or food service experience is preferred but not required. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
