Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and stock bakery items such as breads, cakes, pastries, and deli products including sliced meats, cheeses, and salads.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers, answering questions, and recommending products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bakery and deli departments, including display cases, slicers, and work areas.
• Follow all food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control to prevent contamination.
• Operate equipment such as ovens, slicers, and scales accurately and safely.
• Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and assist with ordering to ensure product freshness and availability.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and support store promotions.

Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a refrigerated environment. Kroger provides training for all necessary food handling certifications.
