Bakery/Deli Clerks are responsible for maintaining department standards, handling food safely, and assisting customers with product selection and special orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package bakery items such as cakes, pastries, breads, and deli meats, cheeses, salads, and hot foods.
• Stock shelves and display cases with fresh products, ensuring attractive presentation and proper rotation to minimize waste.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and wrapping machines following safety protocols.
• Provide friendly customer service, answer questions, suggest products, and process special orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and display cases per health regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team. Basic food handling knowledge is preferred, with on-the-job training provided. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in varying temperatures. Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
