Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and display bakery items such as breads, cakes, pastries, and deli meats/cheeses to attract customers.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with product selection, special orders, and recommendations.
• Maintain department cleanliness, rotate stock to ensure freshness, and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
• Operate equipment like slicers, ovens, and mixers safely while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and support store promotions.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for food preparation. Basic math skills for pricing and measuring ingredients are essential. Kroger provides on-the-job training for food handling certifications. This role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
