Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and offer personalized recommendations based on their tastes, dietary preferences, and occasion needs.
• Prepare cheese platters, samples, and pairings with wines, crackers, or fruits to enhance the shopping experience.
• Maintain an immaculate cheese case, ensuring proper temperature control, rotation of stock, and attractive merchandising displays.
• Handle sales transactions accurately using Kroger's POS systems, process payments, and manage returns or exchanges.
• Monitor inventory levels, receive deliveries, and restock shelves while checking for quality and expiration dates.
• Educate customers on cheese varieties, origins, aging processes, and storage tips to build loyalty and sales.
• Collaborate with department leads and other clerks to execute promotions, seasonal displays, and special events like cheese tastings.
• Adhere to food safety standards, including sanitation protocols, hygiene practices, and compliance with health regulations.
• Assist in general department maintenance, such as cleaning counters, slicing equipment, and organizing backroom storage.
