The Cheese Shop/Clerk position at Kroger is an essential role in our Specialty Cheese Department, where you will provide exceptional customer service while managing a diverse selection of premium cheeses, artisanal products, and related gourmet items. As a key team member in one of America's largest grocery retailers, you will engage with customers to recommend pairings, educate on cheese varieties, and ensure the department maintains the highest standards of freshness, presentation, and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting cheeses, charcuterie, and accompaniments, offering expert advice on flavors, origins, and serving suggestions.
• Maintain an attractive and organized cheese display, including slicing, wrapping, and labeling products accurately.
• Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock to prevent spoilage, and place orders to replenish supplies.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including proper temperature control, sanitation of work areas, and adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) methods.
• Operate department equipment such as cheese slicers, scales, and POS systems efficiently and safely.
• Collaborate with other departments for cross-merchandising opportunities and special promotions.
