The Cheese Shop/Clerk position at Kroger is an essential role in our Specialty Cheese Department, where you will provide exceptional customer service while curating and selling a wide variety of premium cheeses, artisanal products, and related gourmet items. As a key team member in our grocery stores, you will assist customers in selecting the perfect cheeses for their needs, offer tastings, and educate on pairings, origins, and storage tips to enhance their shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide personalized recommendations on cheeses, charcuterie, and accompaniments.
• Maintain an immaculate cheese display, ensuring products are fresh, properly labeled, and attractively presented.
• Slice, weigh, and package cheeses accurately using specialized tools and equipment.
• Manage inventory by rotating stock, checking expiration dates, and restocking to meet demand.
• Operate the point-of-sale system, process transactions efficiently, and handle cash and digital payments securely.

Daily Operations

You will collaborate with the deli and grocery teams to promote seasonal cheese promotions and cross-merchandise products. Knowledge of food safety standards is crucial, including proper sanitation of cutting surfaces, temperature control, and adherence to HACCP guidelines. This role requires standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weights (up to 50 lbs), and working in a fast-paced retail environment. Part-time and full-time schedules available, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
