Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide personalized cheese tastings and recommendations.
• Slice, weigh, and package cheeses accurately using specialized equipment.
• Maintain an immaculate cheese case display, ensuring products are fresh, attractively arranged, and rotated properly.
• Operate the cheese shop counter, process transactions efficiently via POS systems, and handle cash/credit payments.
• Stock inventory, check expiration dates, and order supplies as needed to keep the department fully stocked.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including proper sanitation, temperature control, and hygiene protocols.
• Collaborate with department team members and other store associates to promote sales and special promotions.
• Assist in preparing cheese platters, samples, and seasonal displays to drive customer engagement.

Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates possess strong customer service skills, basic knowledge of cheese varieties (e.g., artisanal, imported, vegan options), and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Previous retail or food service experience is preferred. Kroger provides training on product knowledge and safe handling practices.
