Job Overview

The Compton Perishable Order Selector position at Kroger is a vital role in our Warehouse/Bracket 2 operations, focused on efficiently selecting and preparing perishable goods such as fresh produce, dairy, meat, and frozen items for distribution to Kroger stores. Located in Compton, this role ensures timely and accurate order fulfillment to maintain product freshness and support store replenishment needs. As a key member of the supply chain team, you will work in a fast-paced environment handling temperature-controlled products with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately select perishable items using voice-directed or RF scanning technology to meet order requirements.
• Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment safely in refrigerated and freezer areas.
• Inspect products for quality, expiration dates, and damage, ensuring only premium goods are shipped.
• Load and organize orders onto pallets or trucks, maintaining proper stacking and securing methods.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices to minimize waste and spoilage.

Work Environment

This full-time position involves working in varying temperatures from ambient to sub-zero freezers, requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to strict food safety protocols. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays to align with warehouse operations. Kroger provides comprehensive training, uniforms, and safety gear.
