Position Overview

The Corporate Counsel – Real Estate at Kroger plays a critical role in supporting the company's extensive real estate portfolio, which includes retail stores, distribution centers, and corporate facilities across the United States. This position involves providing legal counsel on all aspects of real estate transactions, leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects. Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft complex real estate documents such as leases, purchase agreements, easements, and development contracts.
• Conduct due diligence for property acquisitions and dispositions, including title reviews, zoning analysis, and environmental assessments.
• Advise on land use, permitting, and regulatory compliance for new store developments and expansions.
• Manage real estate litigation, including landlord-tenant disputes, eminent domain proceedings, and construction claims.
• Collaborate with external counsel and vendors to support Kroger's real estate initiatives efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state, with 7+ years of relevant real estate experience.
