Job Overview

The Drug-Gen Mdse/Clerk position at Kroger is a vital role in our pharmacy operations, focusing on the management of general merchandise within the drug and health department. This position ensures that shelves are stocked with over-the-counter medications, health products, beauty aids, and related general merchandise, maintaining an organized and customer-friendly environment. Clerks play a key role in supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians by handling inventory, merchandising, and assisting customers with product location and basic inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock and organize shelves with drugstore general merchandise including vitamins, first aid supplies, cosmetics, and seasonal health items.
• Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock to ensure freshness, and report low stock to pharmacy management.
• Assist customers in locating products, providing product recommendations, and answering general questions about over-the-counter items.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards in the drug general merchandise area, including facing products and building displays.
• Process merchandise returns, check expiration dates, and dispose of outdated products according to company guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer service orientation. Previous retail or grocery experience is preferred, along with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Knowledge of health and beauty products is a plus. This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in a fast-paced retail pharmacy setting.
