Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design and assemble floral arrangements, bouquets, and centerpieces using fresh-cut flowers, plants, and decorative elements.
• Consult with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable floral products.
• Maintain inventory by ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, and rotating stock to ensure freshness.
• Care for plants and flowers, including watering, trimming, and conditioning to extend shelf life.
• Operate the floral department register, process transactions, and handle cash accurately.
• Ensure department cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with store management and other departments to promote floral sales through merchandising and promotions.
• Assist in holiday and event preparations, such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and store events.

Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates have a passion for flowers, creativity, and customer-focused mindset. Basic knowledge of floral design techniques is preferred, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. Physical stamina for lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods is required. Kroger provides training for those new to the floral industry.
