Job Overview

The Floral/Lead Clerk at Kroger is a key role in the floral department, responsible for leading a team of clerks while ensuring exceptional customer service, high-quality floral arrangements, and smooth department operations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations in the floral department, including supervising staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Design and create custom floral arrangements, bouquets, and displays for holidays, events, and everyday sales.
• Manage inventory by ordering flowers, plants, and supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through proper rotation and care.
• Provide expert customer service by consulting on floral selections, offering care instructions, and processing special orders efficiently.
• Maintain department cleanliness, sanitation, and visual merchandising to create an inviting shopping experience.
• Handle cash transactions, returns, and pricing accuracy using Kroger's POS systems.
• Train and mentor junior floral clerks on best practices in design, safety, and customer interaction.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should have prior experience in floral retail or a related field, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for horticulture. Knowledge of floral care, design principles, and safe handling of tools is essential. This role requires physical stamina for lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in varying temperatures.
