Job Overview

The Freshness & Standards/Asst Process Change Manager on the Innovation Team at Kroger plays a pivotal role in enhancing our fresh food departments, including produce, bakery, floral, and meat/seafood. This position focuses on developing and implementing innovative processes to maintain superior product freshness, uphold stringent quality standards, and drive operational excellence across our retail network. As an assistant manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead change management initiatives, ensuring seamless adoption of new standards and technologies that improve customer satisfaction and reduce waste.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and rollout of freshness protocols and quality assurance programs for perishable goods.
• Analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose data-driven innovations to optimize supply chain and in-store handling.
• Manage change initiatives, including training programs, communication strategies, and performance metrics to support team adoption.
• Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to establish and monitor compliance with freshness and safety standards.
• Utilize analytics tools to track KPIs such as waste reduction, product turnover, and customer feedback on quality.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, food science, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in retail operations or process improvement, preferably in fresh foods. Strong project management skills and familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies are essential. This role requires excellent communication abilities to influence and train store associates and leadership.
