Job Overview

The Logistics/Fleet Maintenance Manager at Kroger plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our extensive transportation and logistics network. This position oversees the maintenance, repair, and optimization of our fleet of trucks, trailers, and related equipment to support Kroger's supply chain across multiple distribution centers and stores. Reporting to the Director of Logistics, you will lead a team of technicians and coordinators, implementing preventive maintenance programs, managing vendor relationships, and driving cost efficiencies while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily fleet maintenance operations, including scheduling repairs and inspections for a fleet exceeding 1,000 vehicles.
• Develop and enforce maintenance protocols compliant with DOT regulations and Kroger safety policies.
• Analyze fleet performance data to optimize routes, fuel efficiency, and vehicle utilization.
• Manage budgets for parts, labor, and equipment purchases, targeting a 10-15% annual cost reduction.
• Lead root cause analysis for downtime incidents and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, with at least 7 years of experience in fleet management. Strong leadership skills, proficiency in fleet management software (e.g., TMW, Fleetio), and knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics are essential. ASE certifications and CDL are highly preferred.
