Job Overview

The Logistics/Fleet Services Mechanic I at Kroger plays a critical role in maintaining the company's extensive fleet of trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles. This position ensures that all fleet assets operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with federal and state regulations. Mechanics diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Working in a fast-paced logistics environment, the mechanic supports Kroger's supply chain operations by minimizing downtime and maximizing vehicle uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles to DOT standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conduct tire services, brake repairs, and suspension work to ensure roadworthiness.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and service history in the fleet management system.
• Collaborate with logistics teams to prioritize repairs based on delivery schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Operate shop equipment such as lifts, welders, and air tools proficiently.

Qualifications and Skills
