Job Overview

The Logistics/Yard Driver (3rd Shift) at Kroger plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution centers and supply chain logistics. This position involves operating yard trucks and equipment to move trailers within the yard, supporting the timely loading and unloading of merchandise for Kroger stores. Working the 3rd shift (overnight hours), you will contribute to maintaining high efficiency in our logistics network, minimizing downtime, and ensuring product availability across our retail locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate yard trucks to reposition trailers between docks, staging areas, and parking zones.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to facilitate efficient trailer movements and inventory flow.
• Monitor yard traffic and adhere to all traffic control protocols to prevent accidents.
• Maintain accurate logs of movements, inspections, and any incidents in accordance with DOT regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements and have at least 1 year of verifiable yard driving experience. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, excellent safety record, and physical ability to perform duties in all weather conditions are essential. The role demands reliability during overnight shifts, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
