The Meat/Asst Dept Leader at Kroger is a key leadership role in the fresh meat department of our grocery stores. This position supports the Meat Department Leader in overseeing all aspects of meat processing, merchandising, customer service, and team management to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising meat cutters, wrappers, and associates to meet daily production goals.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and food handling practices.
• Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimize waste to optimize department profitability.
• Provide exceptional customer service by offering product recommendations and addressing inquiries.
• Train and develop team members on meat preparation techniques and company standards.
• Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation to uphold Kroger's brand reputation.
• Coordinate with other departments for cross-merchandising opportunities and promotions.

Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates possess strong leadership abilities, knowledge of meat cutting and USDA standards, and experience in retail grocery operations.
