Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package meat products including cutting, grinding, and wrapping according to customer specifications.
• Ensure all products are labeled correctly with prices, dates, and safety information.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and display cases to meet health and sanitation standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product selection, recommendations, and special orders.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in receiving and stocking new shipments.
• Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper temperature control and cross-contamination prevention.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have basic knowledge of meat cuts and preparation methods. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a refrigerated environment. Previous experience in retail or food handling is preferred. Kroger provides training for safe knife handling and equipment use.
