Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package meat products including cutting, grinding, and trimming according to customer specifications and store standards.
• Ensure all meat displays are attractive, fully stocked, and rotated to maintain freshness.
• Operate meat department equipment such as slicers, grinders, and scales safely and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and assisting with special orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat case, work areas, and storage rooms, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Follow inventory control procedures, including receiving deliveries, checking quality, and minimizing waste.
• Collaborate with department team members and other store associates to meet daily operational goals.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should possess basic knowledge of meat cuts and preparation methods. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly is required. Previous experience in food handling or retail is preferred. Kroger provides training on food safety certification, such as ServSafe.
