Key Responsibilities

• Follow strict food safety guidelines, including proper temperature control, sanitation of equipment, and handling practices to prevent cross-contamination.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product selection, special cuts, and recommendations on recipes or cooking methods.
• Operate department equipment such as slicers, grinders, and scales safely and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels, receive deliveries, and report any quality issues to the department manager.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to Kroger's hygiene and safety policies.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have basic knowledge of meat cuts and food handling. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly is required. Previous experience in retail or food service is preferred. Kroger offers training for all team members to ensure success in this role.
