Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package meat products including cutting, grinding, and trimming to meet customer specifications.
• Ensure all meat displays are attractive, clean, and fully stocked with fresh inventory.
• Follow strict sanitation and food safety protocols to prevent contamination and comply with USDA regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and assisting with special orders.
• Operate department equipment such as slicers, grinders, and scales safely and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and report shortages to management.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning cases, shelves, and equipment daily.

Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates have basic knowledge of meat cuts and preparation methods. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly is required. Previous experience in retail or food handling is preferred. Kroger provides training for all associates to ensure success in this role.
