Job Overview

The Meat/Clerk position at Kroger is an essential role in our grocery stores, focusing on providing high-quality meat products and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package meat products including cutting, grinding, and trimming to meet customer specifications.
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, offering advice on meat selections, recipes, and cooking methods.
• Ensure all meat products are fresh, properly labeled, and displayed attractively to drive sales.
• Maintain sanitation standards by cleaning work areas, equipment, and surfaces according to health regulations.
• Stock shelves, rotate products to ensure freshness, and monitor inventory levels for reordering.
• Operate department equipment such as slicers, grinders, and scales safely and efficiently.
• Assist with special orders, catering requests, and promotional displays.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong attention to detail, physical stamina for standing and lifting up to 50 lbs, and a passion for food service. Previous experience in retail or food handling is preferred. Kroger provides training on food safety and customer service best practices.
