Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package meat products including cutting, grinding, and trimming to meet customer specifications.
• Ensure all products are properly labeled, priced, and displayed in an appealing manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department, following all health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product selection, recommendations, and special orders.
• Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock to ensure freshness, and assist with receiving and stocking deliveries.
• Operate department equipment such as slicers, grinders, and scales safely and efficiently.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have basic knowledge of meat cuts and preparation methods. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly is required. Previous experience in retail or food handling is preferred. Kroger provides training for food safety certification.
