Job Overview

The Meat Clerk position at Kroger is an essential role in our grocery stores, focusing on providing high-quality meat products to customers while maintaining department standards. Meat Clerks assist in the meat department by preparing, wrapping, and displaying fresh meats, seafood, and related products. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package meat products including cutting, grinding, and trimming according to customer specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat case and department workstations.
• Provide product recommendations and answer customer inquiries about meat cuts, preparation methods, and recipes.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure product freshness.
• Stock shelves, rotate products, and check expiration dates to maintain inventory quality.
• Assist with ordering and receiving meat deliveries, verifying quality and quantity.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have basic knowledge of meat cuts and handling, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina is required for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in refrigerated areas. Previous experience in retail or food service is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training is provided.

Work Environment
