Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, answering questions about meat products, cuts, and preparation methods.

• Stock shelves and displays with fresh meat products, rotating stock to ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and display cases to meet health and safety standards.
• Assist with trimming, grinding, and slicing meat as directed by the Meat Department Manager.
• Monitor product quality, removing outdated or damaged items and reporting issues to supervisors.
• Operate department equipment such as scales, slicers, and grinders safely and efficiently.
• Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking quality, and stocking merchandise.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily sales goals and promotional objectives.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have basic knowledge of meat cuts and food safety practices. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods is required. Previous retail or food handling experience is preferred. Kroger provides training for all necessary skills.
