Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package meat products including cutting, grinding, and trimming according to customer specifications and store standards.
• Ensure all meat displays are attractive, fully stocked, and rotated to maintain freshness.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat case, work areas, and equipment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and assisting with special orders.
• Operate department equipment such as slicers, grinders, and scales safely and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels, receive deliveries, and report any quality issues to the department manager.
• Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper temperature control and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have basic knowledge of meat cuts and preparation methods. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly is required. Previous experience in retail or food handling is preferred. Kroger provides training for all associates to ensure success in this role.
