The Meat/Journeyman position at Kroger is a skilled role within the Meat Department, focused on preparing, cutting, wrapping, and displaying high-quality meat products to meet customer needs. Key Responsibilities

• Accurately cut, trim, grind, and prepare various meat products including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood.
• Wrap and label products according to Kroger's merchandising standards and pricing guidelines.
• Maintain department displays to ensure attractive presentation and optimal stock levels.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to comply with health regulations.
• Assist customers with product selection, recommendations, and special orders.
• Operate meat department equipment such as slicers, grinders, and scales safely.
• Monitor inventory, receive deliveries, and rotate stock to minimize waste.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional service.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong knife skills, knowledge of meat cuts, and the ability to work in a refrigerated environment. Physical stamina is essential for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and repetitive tasks. Prior experience in meat processing or butchery is preferred. Kroger provides training for Journeyman certification.
